  • Knowledge of various types of gypsum boards
  • Knowledge of the procedures for the single and double ply installation of drywall
  • Knowledge of types of screws used in gypsum installation
  • Knowledge of the different types of laths
  • Knowledge of the various sound isolating materials
  • Understanding the uses for the different types of laths
  • Knowledge of nailing schedule
  • Knowledge of the procedure various finishing compounds for drywall
  • Identification of metal lath used in wider spaced framing
  • Understanding how suspension systems are installed for suspended drywall ceilings
  • Knowledge of drywall is fastened to suspension grid
  • Knowledge of the installation of metal stud systems
  • Knowledge of how to a materials take off from shop drawing
  • Development of a materials list
