Drilling Trades

The operation of a drilling rig requires a team of individuals with various competencies to undertake a number of functions. Each position on the rig would have very specific responsibilities to ensure that the operation is undertaken efficiently. The NESC developed its Drilling Trades based on skill requirements of the main occupations resident on a drilling rig. Persons completing any of the drilling courses will be prepared for work through a combination of classroom instruction and hands-on sessions.

The Drilling Trades were launched at NESC Skills and Technology Centre at Mayaro where the industry demand for the skills was significant. There are plans however for the expansion of the training to other NESC Centres.
