Graduates from this programme develop skills that apply to lawn mowers, lawn tractors, generators, compressors, weed whackers and many more. Upon successful completion of the short programme, a graduate should have the ability to perform basic maintenance, initiate advance engine repairs and troubleshoot any problems associated with a small engine, as well as the following:

Course Outline

  • Identify four stroke and two stroke cycle engines
  • Explain how the two and four cycle stroke engine work
  • Identify and list the function of the various systems that keep an engine working
  • Perform and test and service ignition system and compression service engine system
  • Perform trouble shooting problems in Small Gas Engines
  • Tune up Small Gas Engines
  • Identify reasons for disassembling an engine
  • 4 stroke/cycle
  • 2 stroke/cycle
  • Perform an overhaul procedure
  • Check and service engine components and valve train assembly
  • At the end of the training programme participants will be able to eliminate the possibility of accidents Check and service implements/attachments driven by Small Gas Engines
  • Re-assemble the engine
