Admission Requirements

Basic Requirements (Full-time)

Basic Requirements for ALL full-time courses are as follows (additional criteria must be met for the courses listed below):

  • Applicant must be 17 years or older.
  • Applicant should have completed secondary school and should be in possession of 3 CXC subjects and/or a craft certificate (or equivalent qualification)
  • Applicant must be successful in NESC’s Entrance Examination and/or an Entrance Interview
  • Applicant should have completed Secondary School education; possess craft certificate.
  • Applicant must pass a drug test upon successful completion of the Entrance Examination and/or Interview

Apprenticeship Requirements
Instrumentation subjects Basic requirements plus 5 C.X.C. subjects
Industrial Mechanical Maintenance subjects Basic requirements plus 5 C.X.C. subjects
Construction Trades Requirements
Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) Basic Requirements plus NESC SMAW (6G) or evidence of Welding (6G) code
Flux Core Arc Welding (FCAW) Basic Requirements plus NESC SMAW (6G) or evidence of Welding (6G) code
Construction Equipment Operator Basic Requirements plus valis Trinidad & Tobago Driver’s Permit
