NESC Skills & Technology Centre, Point Fortin

NESC Skills & Technology Centre, Point FortinThe NESC Skills and Technology Centre, Point Fortin was the first of NESC’s Centres and was initially focused on training in Welding (up to 6G code) and Pipefitting & Fabrication, to meet the immediate need for skilled personnel for construction of Train 1 of the Atlantic LNG. Welding remains a much sought after skill for residents of the borough and its surrounding communities.

Over the years since its establishment, the physical capacity of the centre has been expanded to facilitate a wider range of courses to more effectively meet industry demand. Approximately a dozen courses are now offered at the centre, available on both a full-time and part-time basis in most instances.
